Which documents should I submit with a visa application?

• Documentation to submit with an entry visa application for work in Switzerland

  The following documents are in general required when applying for an entry visa for work in Switzerland:

  • authorisation issued by the cantonal authority (original or copy)
  • application for a long stay visa (visa D)
  • valid passport (original)
  • a recent photograph
  • visa fees

  If your stay in Switzerland does not exceed 90 days, please contact the Swiss representation.

Please note that processing time is 24 hours (one working day).

The entry visa will allow you to travel through the Schengen states and enter Switzerland during its validity. Within the first 8 days following your initial entry, you have to declare your arrival at the Foreigners Police or Town Registrar at your place of residence. The permit to stay, study or work in Switzerland will be issued upon notification of your arrival.
